The Beehive
Tools Needed:
Pintail comb
Hair brushes
Sectioning clips
Hair Grips
Tongs
Products Needed:
Dry Shampoo
Hair Spray
Method:
1 Section front of hair and clip away
2 Start at the top of the crown and section downwards, leaving one section at the front to smooth over the beehive.
3 Spray dry shampoo to the root to make the hair dry and tacky. Don't use hairspray as this will make the hair crisp and unworkable.
4 Take another small section of hair behind the pieces you just clipped, use your heated tongs to curl the section and then gently slide the tong out making sure the curl is still in place. Hold it in with a section clip then repeat this until you get to about ear level, do the same to the side of the head.
5 To check the hair has cooled down you can just place your finger inside the curl; you can then remove of the clips to begin backcombing.
6 Gently backcomb each section; it needs to hold the hair into place without making it difficult to brush out. You can then move the hair around to get the beehive style shape you want, use the end of your comb to help lift the hair. Clip it into place at the back with hair grips.
7 This is where the small section you pulled out earlier will be useful. The backcomb can make the hair look messy so by pulling this over and clipping it in with the rest of the hair it will give a smooth finish to the style.
8 With the last pieces of hair at the front you can clip them into the back too so that the hair is still in its parting but out of the way which gives it that 60's look.
